Pine bark
The pine bark contains a small quantity of nitrogen (ca. 1%) and other nutritious components, and its pH is similar to peat pH (4.3 – 4.5). It does not contain fungi or bacteria.
Broken up, the pine bark can be used as paths and yards cover. It can be used for big trees and shrub mulching, at first for species that like acid soil (conifers, azaleas, rhododendrons and other ericaceous). Moderate thickness bark, except the above mentioned characteristics, is also esthetical and forms a perfect and necessary element of ever garden decoration. Fine thickness bark, mixed with the soil, most often is used for shrub and trees planting.
